5 Oktoberfest Beers
Oktoberfest in Munich starts on September 20th, this year, only a couple weeks away. Most Oktoberfest beers are currently on the shelf so why not stock up now for the end of the month or heck, just buy a couple of 6 packs and start enjoying Oktoberfest today. As with the past two lists posts, we rate the beers on a scale of 1-5 pints, 5 pints being the best.
Sam Adams Octoberfest
This beer comes in 6 packs, 12 packs, can be found in the Sam Adams Harvest Collection and is available on tap at many restaurants and bars. It’s usually going to be the best beer available on tap at big chain restaurants and bars with limited selection. Not worth buying a 12 pack, but definitely worth having one with dinner, especially on draft.

Central Waters Octoberfest Lager
I have only seen this beer in 6 packs. I wish it was more widely available on draft. I’m sure the better bars with a wider craft beer selection carry it. Worth grabbing a 6 pack, at the very least worth trying a pint on tap.

Saint Arnold Octoberfest
Made by the oldest craft brewery in Texas, this beer comes in 6 packs. I’m guessing you can find it on tap in select Texas cities as well. This brew was given high praise by Kraft, which makes me jealous as I’m unable to purchase this brew in Illinois.

Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn
Now we get to a couple authentic Oktoberfest brews. I have seen this beer in 6 packs, 12 packs and Paulaner variety packs. This is a delicious beer and you should definitely try it out. It’s made within Munich city limits and meets the alcohol content guidelines so it can be served at the Munich Oktoberfest.

Spaten Oktoberfest 5.9% ABV
This is my favorite Oktoberfest beer of all time. It comes in 6 packs and 12 packs. I recommend grabbing a 12 pack of this beer. You will find yourself going through 6 in way too short a time frame. If you are only going to get a 6 pack, then at least also buy a 6 pack of the Paulaner Oktoberfest mentioned above. That way you are getting to compare the two best Oktoberfest brews out there.
